写真集「RECOLLECTION / 記憶」

2023年10月開催の個展「RECOLLECTION / 記憶」に合わせて上梓しました。
街の風景とポートレートで構成されたモノクロの写真集です。

"数年前、少し間違えると死に至るほどの事故に見舞われた。数ヶ月に渡る入院の日々、もし僕がその事故で命を失っていたら、過去の記憶はどこかに消えていたのかもしれない。病室で少しの寂しさと焦りを感じた。

奇跡的に生還できた僕とは反対に、妻はまったく予期しなかった病気で若くしてその人生を終えてしまった。1年にも満たない闘病生活だった。そして、妻の死をきっかけに、僕は女性の姿を撮るようになっていった。

これは妻を失ったあとの、僕の記憶の欠片である。"

A few years ago, I suffered an accident that, had things gone slightly differently, would have resulted in my death. During the months I was hospitalized, it seemed to me that if I had lost my life in that accident, my memories of the past would have disappeared somewhere. I felt a little lonely and anxious in the hospital room.

In contrast to my miraculous survival, my wife's life ended at a young age due to an unexpected illness. She had fought the disease for less than a year. After her death, I began to take photographs of the female form.

These are fragments of my memory after losing my wife.
